hi , ive just claimed back my travel expenses from when i was paye and was surprised how much im getting back . you can claim back if you have been on different sites for less than two years each site if that makes sense and go as far back as six years . it is a very straight forward procedure , sign a couple of forms and send a copy of i.d . it takes on average roughly ten weeks . www.taxrefunder.org is who i used . straight forward and good to deal with .

How were you able to prove what your expenses were over the last 6 years or was it just done on assumption. I thought everyone on CIS did it with their annual return along with tool expenditure etc and got a rebate on what they'd had deducted.
Can't see it from my house

hi pablo , this is only to do with claims if you were on the books nothing to do with c.i.s .it has been out for a few years now . i just never got round to it till now. the loophole being that you dont have a permanent place of work .i.e you are working on different sites no longer than a two year period. companies you have worked for are not liable to stump up any cash , the rebate comes from hmrc.

you just need to fill in a p87 form off the inland revenue. On a similar note i got a cheque today off the taxman for 1592.80 rebate. happy days!:)

nice one peg . think the p87 form is for expenses under 50 pound a week.meaning 2500 for the year

yeah it is once you go over that amount it has to be done on a self assessment.

your right lll lots most on c.i.s and everyone knows they get a rebate every year . its surprising though the people who are paye in the construction industry and dont realise they are entitled to a rebate on paye as long as they had to pay their own expenses to work .
