^^not really. Iv just sold my p reg daf 45. Great wagon. Never let me down in 5years. Only sold because I've a slightly newer (xreg 45) and can't really keep 3 wagons going in this recession.

Trouble is with the older stuff is getting spares....we've just retired a perfectly good P reg DAF 45/160 insulated tipper as we can't get some spares for it these days..... Can't afford to have it off the road like we did with another one earlier this year -10wks awaiting gearbox parts

parts are no problem to pick up for the Iveco 75e15, this had a reconditioned gearbox less than 2 years ago, it was delivered within 48 hrs and the old one was collected about 7 days after that, btw any inspection welcome on my truck, and I`m open to any sensible offer

We've replaced our old trucks with 2 new MAN 32 tonner's. Its been a real stretch to afford them but we've spent an absolute fortune on maintenance this year to keep our old trucks on the road, not too mention the downtime. Reached the point where we just had to bite the bullet and get brand new ones. My drivers are still complaining though, apparently they prefer the old trucks. Cant bloody win can you?

i hear it all the time off skip companies etc
" lorry broke down"
bottom line is if its broke down your business suffers
i drove about in 15 year old vans for years but over time they cost you
it would be nice to change every 3 years but the trade in money is so low thats not feasible for us right now

Two new MAN units.....very nice LSP! Great 'adverts' for the business, as we find.

Tell a lie, they are not brand new. The chassis cabs are 2007 which we bought direct from MAN, but they had only been used as display models and had 400km on the clock.

We then had to fit the bodies and cranes. The cranes are remote control which is very handy.

I've got my HGV and I've done a few deliveries in the new trucks and they drive like an absolute dream, like a car!

very nice steve
I know its a ball breaker running those trucks but pallet companies really do fail IMHO
obviously, there is a working radius and outside that it has to be pallets
when we have worked in the red bus city most merchants charge for deliveries under £200 as the traffic etc. can cost them big time
