I ment the real black holes that float arround the universe waiting to suck us in!.......it troubles me that the speed of light may be reduced to nothing whilst in a black hole? Or the fact that nutrons may travel faster than light on earth ....this throws the theory or relativity upside down ....I'll never sleep tonight!lutonlagerlout wrote:i prefer the pink ones haggis,i think you may have them the wrong way up :;):

Their was a problem with their calculations, nothing been proven to be faster than speed of light. I have some interesting conversations about it as my brother is doing his phd working on a theory mutually exclusive to string theory. Funny hearing him rant about how stupif string theory is whilst a train full of people give him funny looks because he gets quite heated about it.haggistini wrote:lutonlagerlout wrote:i prefer the pink ones haggis,i think you may have them the wrong way up :;):

i studied computer science at edinburgh, have to take maths for first two years along with an elective. I did ten gcse, six highers, two advanced highers, skipped a year of school, academic scholarship, dux, scored in top .1% for maths out of 550,000 from australasia two years running, got a big folder full of certificates etc
Cant stand english because it is so subjective. When i arrived from australia i handed over some of my old work that i got an a for there and was told by my english teacher here that it was crap. I appreciate the skill it takes to do these creative things, i just hate how they're taught and graded.
Like giles i get a lot of people assuming im an idiot because i do manual labour but i'm happy. I could never work an office job unless it was my office.
