Dpm - Raised paving

DPM issue here, got a client who's having a new Bungalow built, all very Eco and expensive. The plans allow for folding Patio Doors out onto his Terraced area, all nice and modern, inside outside and all that. The Client would like us to install his Patio level with the inside floors, hence the folding doors, the builders say no, obviously due to bridging the DPM. Now I know that that's ano no, but I've seen plenty of Patios laid as he wants it, but with Drainage channels fitted, against the House to prevent damp ingress, whats the deal? Are they just being over cautious? Surely the wall could be tanked to prevent problems? Or am I being daft?

when we know this is coming we put a 600 tray in at DPC on the brickwork that laps up 450 onto the inside skin of blockwork ,then a second dpc on the brickwork 150 above dpc
but of course the builder has to know this in advance
the workaround luton coucil use is code 4 lead cut in minimum, 150 above the new patio
looks shite but its what they ask for
and of course a linear drain along the door
total ballbreaker IMHO unless the person is wheelchair bound

Unfortunatley, the design calls for the Paving to be set level with the Doors, considering the couple are mid-late 60's and this is their new Home, I thought new Build ing regs called for easy access to all new builds, I see lots of nasty new builds with Paving right up to the threshold, and they're being passed, with no obvious alteration to conventional DPM construction. Can we not somehow Tank the face of the DPM and then install some Threshold Channel drains? We now only need to Pave a possible third of the length of the Wall.
