Hi these are my questions regarding the drainage of my new paved area.
1. I have three rainwater down pipes to re lay into a new soak away. I am using 4" plastic pipe. Do I make the connection from the square down pipe to the 4" pipe just under the paving brick so that the bricks can be cut around the square pipe? Or do I bring the 4" pipe connecter to the top of the bricks and cut in around that instead. The down pipe will enter the 4 pipe via an adaptor.
2. Where the patio meets the garden will be a small wall made out of garden walling blocks. What would you suggest as the best way to drain the patio area along this wall. I was thinking about the channel with a grid over it but this is going to take quite a few since it will be a run of about 90 ft.
I hope that this makes since if not I can draw a sketch, which will make it easier.
Regards Kevin.

1 - For these closed connections, I always think it looks neater to take the downpipe below paving level and link in to the connector coupling somewhere around sub-base level. Obviously, if you're using an open Rain Water Pick-up (RWP), you have a hopper at paving level.
2 - what about using the channel units to match the block paving? They should work out a bit cheaper than using a linear channel drain, but there's probably not a lot in it. Could you not form a channel using the existing blocks, and link that in to a gully?
