Upadopted road nightmare - Need affordable surface for steep road

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi,

I live on a short (33m) terraced road in the middle of Reading town centre. The road is unadopted and has never been surfaced and is in a treacherous condition but is also on a very steep incline - 9-11%. There are two drains at the bottom - these are full of debris from the road. The road and pavements cover 370 square meters. We have had quotes for both tarmac and a resin bound surfaces £80K and £70K plus VAT respectively - but due to each household having to pay both options are too expensive. Has anyone heard of a polymer binding process for dirt roads? I have researched and found only companies in America and South Africa? Does any one have any ideas or info? Thanks :)

Sounds very expensive that for highways spec asphalt and kerbing I'd be think for 350m+ worst case with digging it up, new subbase them base course and decent sma wearing course, all your kerbs etc that 25k would be more like it but that northern price and no account for gullies, bad access etc

Thanks - would be great if we could get it done for that price. It doesn't even need to be up to adoptable road standards as it is a no through road. Our council quoted the cost to be £200K to get it adopted! Will keep looking.
