looks like ground heave, pushed the foundation up and cracked the wall, that looks like its inside though from the light
incidentially 2 small cracks have appeared on the dwarf walls of my bay, 102yr old house!!! i decorated when i moved in so werent there then no 2mm wide crack each side. better get in the cellar and have a look

Yes, thats inside a car port/open fronted garage with a steel frame above/around it supporting a second storey above.

that's bad, if it was only the mortar (not good) but the fact its the thermalite blocks have split means somethings really not good.
know a lad who bought a house built by a helicopter loving builder with the founds constructed by (cant say for legal reasons) but they never actually laid any foundation for the house. (it won worst new build uk)
