My driveway. It's not perfect by any means, but for my first ever attempt at anything like this, I'm happy with the end result.

constructive criticism time ,will the body of the drive not wack down anymore? it seems 4mm higher than the edges?
and fair play on the mitres and inboard cutting but you have 3 halves where 1 would suffice?
not trying to put you down mate as its a very nice installation but 2 small details a pro would notice
did you bed the edging course on concrete?

Hi Luton. No problem with the constructive criticism. As I said, I know it's not perfect. When I came to my final wacking it was getting quite late on Sunday (after 7pm) and there is a family next door with small children, so was mindful of the noise I was making. The wacker that I had seemed to make a LOT more noise than previous ones I had hired so probably did not use it for as long as I would have liked. However, it's only half time as far as the whole project is concerned as I still have the rest of the front garden to do and will not be putting the car on it until it all finished. So I will give the whole lot another wack down to try and get it a couple of mm lower.

I'm trying to see where those 3 half blocks are ?

The buff edges are set in concrete.

is it where you have put the charcoal halves down?
maybe it is a detail i didnt see at first
the reason you are having trouble wacking is that your edge blocks are set on concrete
most on here would only concrete the kerbs
i would give it 8/10 for a pro and 10/10 for a first timer
did you sand it before you wacked it?

i couldnt work out the two gaps in your kerb edge, its the sunken cover isnt it? nice touch

wow! never seen that done before. What a clever idea. Nice job all round in my book, and most people would have done 90 degree herringbone to save some time.
