I don't post often and since leaving the UK have kept touch with the paving family thro this website when I thought I could help.
It might be sentimental but its become family to me in a way, and the advice from Tony, LLL and others at different times has saved me from quite a few cock-ups.
I wrote a while back about being tired and ready to return to the UK to fish and paint, (had to leave England to return here due to my wifes ill health) after setting up the company here and tonking along for these last 3 -4 years, despite the misirable economic climate.
Well, curved ball is a tumour in the bowel which means radium for 5 weeks, chemo at the beginning and end, and then an op to remove it.
It meant getting my son into the business asap and handing over as much as possible, so I could concentrate on this crap. Its been amazing watching him come to the party and take in hand things that I spent years learning, and he does it better than me!!
So thats an UP in my estimation, second UP is I've been wanting a decent Motorbike for about a year now, and a lovely BMW is now standing in the wings, waiting to be fetched. Third UP is the rallying of family, you can't put money on that.
I've also spent a hang of a lot more time painting (oils) and have done two huge commissions for a client in Italy.
So - this is not a sympathy whinge by any means, the doctors reckon its curable, and I'm enjoying many positive aspects of life, in spite of the downside.
So, Im not going to be around for a while, but will touch sides sporadically over these next few months, I guess I'm trying to say, live fully while you've got it, aim for the bright side, make friends and family count, and keep this site alive.

Thanks for the support, much appreciated. Have popped of a couple of pics to Flowjoe, he might add them here. Going to look at the Annabel thornton site now, used to exhibit once a year in Tonbridge, as LLL says, it was the best of times....
