In my other life I am the resources chairman for a local kids footie club, we have 700 kids and rent our pitches from the awkward local council.
Drainage is a disaster so matches are called off all the time and the council keep banging on about them being "open spaces not sports pitches". They are surrounded on all sides by 4' deep ditches.
I just heard that we might be able to get our hands on some dosh in the form of a grant and we want to approach the council to offer to help towards overhaul. As a separate related thing there is an integral spare field currently not used and we might want to create a training pitch there, it is not quite level and quite boggy. Does anyone have any ballpark min/max spend ideas to get an area up to training pitch standard? We and I have not a jot of an idea and we have a meeting with them tomorrow about something separate. We'd like to sound them out but have to be prepared for viability questions.
Anyone? Thanks
Cost of creating a "pitch"?
