How to prep for a tarmac drive

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

A typical residential driveway would require a total of 75mm of Tarmac in two layers.....50mm of binder and 25mm of surface course. Make sure your stoning up (150mm min) s accurate, as any make up with Tarmac will be expensive!

100mm layers of type1 whacked, no need for water unless really dusty.

Depends upon levels......you could if levels allow overlay the old tarmac but for a pukka job take it up and start afresh.

Yes bring your stone up gradually and trim it carefully to finished level

Correct ground preparation is the most important part of any drive and paving project. Without the proper preparation and materials it will simply sink. This is because the top layer of block, slab or tarmac will not be properly supported below.
