Hi, I can’t seem to find an exact answer to my question so hope you or others can help. I currently have a straight drop of 500mm from the road into my front garden and need to create a 10m slope down to the front of my house to lay block paving on. I realize I will need a 150mm standard sub base of type 1 but what would you suggest to create the slope below this?
I am awash with concrete as I have removed a garage base and concrete drive from the rear of the house and also a vast amount of bricks and blocks from the house renovation and ex garage. I was hoping to recycle this and I am prepared to hire a concrete crusher to create the type 1 sub base. Could this also be used to create the entire slope below?
Also I have some clayey soil I have excavated but assume it would not be a good idea to use this?
FYI the front garden is currently grass growing in flat clayey sub soil and I will have drainage along the bottom of the slope to a soak away
All advice much appreciated and apologies if this has been covered before.
Regards
Matt.
