If anyone out there has a starter recoil assembley for a honda gx100 engine (with the plastic innards)then may i please have/buy it, there are no suppliers on ebay and i have been supplied three, yes three that dont fit, and i really need my wacker plate next week!

The ones i have found are nearing £100.00....no chance....

Maybe someone has got one attached to a dead engine?

Remember the lawnmower I asked about on the forum that wouldn`t start..? well it does now thanks to a bosch 110v and a 19mm socket starter unit.

Dan, providing this is domestic work, use a drill to start the whacker in the short term.
God loves a tryer

Or old school way wrap the cord round manually and pull start it just don't get anything caught in it, with the drill be ready to pull it off ASAP.

Any local hire shops around might have one? What's happened yours?

Yeah surely with the recoil bit off the engine, there is provision to wrap a length of line around the pawl hub and get it going that way. You used to be able to go this years ago.

Looks like the GX100 engine is different to the bigger ones, this means it is an engine-specific part and nothing else will fit.

Honda Pt No 28400-Z0D-V03 plastic in construction?

Our banks mower went the same way recently. the nylon/plastic innards snapped (and practically dislocated my shoulder)

We ended up having to order the part from Japan, as nobody stocks such an assembly (allegedly) so we resorted to wrapping it round and starting it that way, which got us by until the assembly arrived.
