Block paving on top of existing foot path - Paving on top of existing foot path

I like to put paving on top of an exsisting concrete foot path?
Is is possible?

If yes, do I need to have a base layer or the existing concrete path can be as good as the base layer?

If no base layer is required, what thickness of the bedding layer should be?
