New on so be gentle!
Don't know if any of you guys have laid these before as iv'e not seen any threads on the subject but here goes.
A customer has asked me to lay 19sqm of these 'brick slips' in 'old stock' and i haven't laid these before although i have done a fair amount of tile work at my house but obviously inside!
The wall i'm laying these onto is a 1m high concrete retaining wall that was rendered and then there are 2 courses of 'old essex' bricks on top and the guy wants me to cover these with the 'slips' for continuity.
The wall is straight with some high spots from the concrete shuttering that was used but iv'e smoothed these out so everything is flat and virtually render free as iv'e taken time to get it as perfect as i can and i'm using on advice of the company a Nicobond Rapidflex cement based adheshive .
My question is what type of spread would be best used, as the company state the buttering of each brick and placed or would it be better and more accurate to do a spread of around 3/5mm depth over the concrete then buttering the slips for the top 2 courses to combat the slight variation of the 'essex' bricks, also the company recomended a PVA Solution to be painted on but would any of you guys use a different Solution on an outside wall maybe suggest a compatable Nicobond product?
Iv'e sought advice from the company but would welcome any other advice from a Tiler or anybody with experience in this cladding on site outside and outside in the real world!!
