Hi all
As you know I have sacked the builder and taken on PM'ing my extension myself.
Have one quote in for the roof which is somewhat vague (family member involved loosely). I need to accurately gauge materials to get some prices in ASAP to compare, also looking ahead to other parts of the build, again I need to estimate fast. Are there any online calculators that are accurate enough (ish!!) that could help me out? I am ok doing things like studwork/blockwork but a cut roof I have no idea.
Ta.
Estimating materials for a roof (and other bits)

in terms of pricing a cut roof not a scooby. but in terms of tiles in you use marley tiles for each of the tiles they supply, they tell (on there website) how many tiles and how much batten you need, one to call to your preferred supplier and bobs your uncle materials priced, a process I have been through recently, if you are looking ball park, marley ludlow majors are about 70p each and you need 10 per/sqm, batten for this is 3lin/persqm and comes in at 40p per/m

cut roof is a job for an experienced chipie only
you haven't specified your johnny but to cut a roof on with associated works normally costs me between $500-$1200 labour
(sorry using linux for now and keyboard has gone haywire on me)
plain tiles you need 60 per metre but again the price all depends on many different aspects
a normal house with muckwork lead etc would normally take 2 decent roofers a week to felt batten and tile
cheers

Ignoring the appallingly badly constructed lash-up in microsoft paint, and ignoring the red (for me temp tarp roof guy) the pic may give an indication. All the ridges are the same height, that'll be that glass of Jura single malt methinks.
We're doing the existing bit first so we can get me boy back in his room sharpish (he's got the crappy dormer).
Edit, thinking clearly, hic, screenshots are a wonderful thing
