How good is, The Beckoning Silence?!!
Brilliant and quite harrowing at the same time.

The White Spider by Heinrich Harrer is a classic about the Eiger if you enjoyed BS.

A couple of my fav's are,

The Last King of Scotland by Giles Foden, (knocks spots of the film, and that is pretty good!)

City Of God by ?

Marching Powder by Rusty Young

Bringing Down the house by Ben Mezrich

Into Thin Air Jon Krakauer

Any reccomendations for Non fiction in return???

Cheers

read nearly all the dopey brit in jail abroad books
got 2 mates who have served time in america one 4 years the other 7
you really dont need to get nicked in america ,the prisons spend 40c a day feeding each prisoner
the only thing that kept them, alive was the fact that they were english ,who most american nutters see as friends of america
"youse guys and us guys we whupped hitlers ass" was one life saver for chris
people were murdered in prison over a pack of cigarettes

I`ve read that Pablo, I liked the fact that he said he deserved to be punished but not treated the way he was. When I was backpacking and went to Thailand the first thing you are handed just before landing is/was a card that states the penalties for drug possession: Death and as soon as you are in the Airport you walk under a huge sign stating the same in about 30 different languages.
God loves a tryer
