i did hear on the wireless that Liverpool was awash with Barcelona flags and shirts
such is the love that exists between these 2 cities
I used to live near Barcelona, and it was well know for its wide awake crews, thieves and pickpockets, las ramblas was a dangerous place for drunks
maybe they should be twinned?
LLL

Correct me if i am wrong giles but liverpool dominated football both on home soil and in europe for over 25 years constantantly playing good football, utd was totally outclassed on the day which never happened to liverpool even though it was before you was born or in the time you was still wearing nappies

If they dominated for 25 years why have they only got 18 championships and is it 5 European cups? real Madrid on 9 that's domination.
If munich air crash hadn't happened that team would have added a lot of trophies and not forgetting our time in the wilderness of European football thanks to Heysel
As for never being outclassed 87 fa cup replay 0-0 at anfield 3-0 to Luton hahaha
Liverpool
In terms of the number of trophies won, Liverpool's most successful decade was the 1980s; the club won six league titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, five Charity Shields (one shared) and two European Cups.
Manchester united
Manchester United's most successful decade was the 1990s; the club won five league titles, four FA Cups, one League Cup, five Charity Shields (one shared), one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and one Intercontinental Cup
The club currently holds the record for most top-division titles (19), the most FA Cups (11), and the most FA Cup Final appearances (18).[151] Manchester United holds the record for the most Premier League titles (12), and was the first English team to win the European Cup in 1968. The club's most recent trophy came in May 2011 with the 2010–11 Premier League title.

if anything utd won the premiership this season by default
chelsea spurs man city and arsenal opted to lose as many games as possible to relegation fodder ,thereby making utds losses and draws away from home a winning formula
vidic and maybe rooney are the only 2 utd players that are world class right now

I like United and Liverpool (even though I'm a Stoke fan). Both great clubs with real history. Its probarbly a good thing for Liverpool that they arn't in Europe, if they sign a few good players they will be a different proposition for next season.
There was no shame in United getting beaten by Barcelona. Put all the skills and passing aside I was gobsmacked about how hard Barcelona worked off the ball. Everytime a Man U player got the ball they were closed down within seconds by 2 or 3 barca players.
Messi makes Rooney look like Rory Delap
