Well, the honours have been handed to me to arrange a forth coming stag do. This is probably going to be happening early-ish next year and I need to start thinking of some ideas as the groom is a wet lettuce and will panic like f**k if I dont start mentioning some ideas in the next month or two!

Im looking for ideas, either in the UK or Europe and id like to do something slightly different if poss.

So far im thinking of either Spain with getting to a Barca game, or an outdoor activity weekend over here. Neither that different from the norm though!

So.... Anyone been on any unusal stag do's or any memorable activities/ days out?

Any ideas are appreciated!

Cheers

Dont think you can go wrong with beach based stag do. Went to Ibiza for mine last year and it was tremendous. City breaks are all well and good but I think the sea and sand and all that gets everyone into the right spirit.

If you want an activities based stag do in the UK, there is something you can do in Cornwall called Coasteering. I've not done it myself yet but am planning to go this summer. Might be a good crack for a stag do

Yeah im with you on that, plus been on loads of city stag do's and everyone just ends up pissed sat in a bar all day. (I guess thats what its about!)

At least you can be pissed sat in the sun!

Maybe Benidorm? Think that would be good as there is a good age range going, 27-60.

If you're looking for something different then maybe Iceland could be a good trip. Also a lot of ski resorts are well set up for summer activites and can be pretty cheap to. The likes of Andorra or Chamonix would be a good call plenty to see and do and the bars are lively enough. I organised a stag last year we told everyone to meet at a carpark in the highlands and to bring outdoor gear. We then took them on a survival weekend around my old stamping grounds and had them eating all sorts of stuff and drinking homebrew and whisky. Finished off with a beach party with a piglet some lamb prawns and mussels on the fire. Everyone had a great time and it was cheap as chips. I don't know about you fella's but I'm fed up with expensive oversees trips just to get pissed and loose your memory it's such a waste of a weekend. I've been averaging 4/5 weddings a year for a while now and when you add up the you and the wife doing the stag/hen and then the wedding day itself Hotel /drinks/ shoes and handbag etc you've spent at least £1500. Some of the best weddings and stags I've been to have been the most basic and cheapest and the more expensive a wedding is the less enjoyable it usually is to many things to worry about and not enough time to relax and let your hair down.

in terms of outfits for the stag, the best I have heard of so far is the full German football kit socks, shorts and top. nice :p

bit of a stag do veteran
did 6 days in ibiza on my own stag
and in no particular order have done
benidorm very dangerous place lot of mugging s and robberies of lashed up blokes, water park was fun in the day but lads getting bashed very night was a nuisance, plus hotel was surrounded by african prostitutes day and night

magaluf slightly better than benidorm ,a swedish guy at a kebab van asked me why do british men drink like they do? my mate then vomited on his feet

reyjkavik bloody expensive for a stag do ,no one needs 7 quid pints on a stag

ibiza town great place but the clubs (space pacha etc) savagely expensive 9 euro for a bottle of water anyone?
I was drinking bacardi and cokes and spent 200 euros on it in 4 hours 3 years ago
having said that we stayed at es vive hotel and it was a great place

butlins big 80 weekend in skegness
recent stag very reasonable you can drink the tap water and the bars are open till 6AM then reopen at 10.30AM
skegvegas was full of northerners but i am sure minehead or bognor would be a bit less so ,easy to get to,no aggro at the airport and drinks at pub prices
6000 people at these does all on stags hens and 30,40 50 birthdays
kinda made for it

done amsterdam Budapest, prague and bratislava but as was said without sun you end in in the pub or the knocking shop all day :)

Done 5 days in Berlin which was amazing plenty of beer but also got around the city, Munich in the summer is great, done a skiing stag do silly everyone to hammered to ski till lunch time then the pub lol.

Best one recently was out into the peak district from Sheffield there's this proper old pub with a barn attached. It's a pound each to bed down in the barn with sleeping bag, then the pub is in a time warp. A dog for every guy in there, 3 huge fires, game hanging everywhere and guys in the full plus 4s which their shotguns.

Sign behind the bar reads do not ask for lager as a punch in the mouth often offends, proper good food and there where 16 nurses there up from London being shown a proper country pub by their boss from Sheffield, couldn't have planned it better.

Cheers everyone for the ideas, keep em coming!!

Anyone done any particular activities? Other than the usual paintball or go karts?

Stock car racing looks good, and you can shoot ak47's at some european destinations, although the novelty may soon wear off!

Cheers
