Quartzite slabs - concrete or dtp1?

About to undertake construction of my patio (the sub base for now anyway)
not too sure what base i should be using
100mm dtp1?
100mm concrete base?
or some combination of both?
patio will be 45m3 on heavy clay soil , in my back garden so no traffic

intend to use quartzite flags

22mm various thickness £40 sqm

oh and i have terram 1000 left over from drainage trenches , although its the end i cut off the coil and is just over 2m wide x100m
is it suitable to use this in 2 overlapping strips , to cover 3m wide patio area?

go for 75mm dtp1 with the terram down to stop the type 1 sinking in to the clay. Overlapping by 1m is fine and that terram is fine for putting under a patio.

Is 75mm not a bit thin?
What bedding would I use then , 50mm mortar?
a semi dry mix?

finished my garden drainage after help from this site , think I may as well complete the patio and put the garden back together

100mm is minimum for a driveway. 75mm is good for a patio / path.
I would lay them on 30-50mm bed of semi dry 6:1 sharp sand:cement with an SBR bond bridge. You are best doing individual bedding because of the varying thicknesses of the slabs.
