Just removed my turf and excavated down around 4/5". I've had delivered 4 ton crushed concrete and 4 ton sharp sand delivered. Not sure what I'm putting on it yet either paving or artificial turf. Now here's my problem I ordered crushed concrete as the company I got it from said it was just an alternative to mot, but it seems to have some really big chunks in it. I only want around 50mm to go down and I can't see how it will compact. Could I go over the top of that with some finer aggregate if it doesn't compact well. Also will a standard wacker do the job of this. Cheers for any info.

MOT grading can be anything from 50mm down to 32mm down, so putting a subbase in at a depth of 50mm is gonna be tough. the larger stones won't compact so not even a Bomag 161 will do it, let alone a whacker plate. you can dig deeper to 100mm or send it back and order some 20mm down agg.
i used to love using tarmac, but got fed up with getting my asphalt
