after the 2 year recession and the 2 bad winters a lot of lads have to work when its there
i took mrs and miss lout +plus miss lout's mate to london yesterday
have to say it was good value at £23.80 for the lot of us on a travelcard
untill they mentioned replacement buses
the driver on the way down got lost on teh M25 and ended up heading back up the M1 to luton ???
the one on the way back (poor old fella from tamworth, great driver but shoulda gone to specsavers) missed the north circ finchley road turning and took us on a 40 minute mystery tour of north london, all well and good apart from the 16 on the bus needing to catch flights from luton :(
ended up speding about one and a half on tat (various clothes for women etc) and some street food in brick lane
it wasnt that bad as we only had tummy aches for a couple of hours last night :;):
all in all a nice beer free day
just teeing it all up nicely for next weekend :;):

Having a Day to catch up on Quotes and paper work, so not relly a Day off, just a Pause for breath, not complaining though, good to be busy.

No rest for me unfortunately. Self employed and have 40m2 of indian sandstone, 60m2 of monoblocking, 20m2 of decking, some weeding, pruning and tree removal to do for a customer.

.....O my heart bleeds for you lads having to work on a bank holiday :(
When i was self employed i used to stick a few bob to one side to make up for days off so that i could spend it with the family. A lot of the time i would work but now i look forward to days off. I put in a lot of hours, most days 16 hours with the travelling and weekends have to do maintenance on the house, so i know where you are coming from as regards work. My chill day today consisted of, building a one course planter out of granite stones, planting up, tip run shopping, now cutting the grass. Holiday....

I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow and get a splinter from a lump of oak instead of sore fingers from those horrible block pavers and sharp sand, I hope I don't have to touch another block paver ever again ever!

Dunno how you chaps do this every day for a living.

I don't mind not having the day off, I'm happy out in the sun all day. The hard graft i treat as a workout :D

As for handling monoblocks all day, wear gloves or wait a couple of months until you have hands like leather.

Tight fitting nitrile faced gloves are great for handling blocks. Size 10 is ideal! :)
