I'm now back at my desk - it seems stupidly dangerous to leave you lot unsupervised for too long! :;):

The new bits they've gaffer-taped onto me heart are promised to keep me working for 2-3 years longer, and I've had the lecture about diet and exercise (but no clues as to how you can exercise with a knackered spine). I'm back in hozzy next week, just for a day, to see if I'm dead yet, and then it's down to 3-monthly check-ups and enhanced "bacon butty watch" by my overly vigilant daughter.

I'm bruised, sore and sleepy, but getting better every day.....
