Hi All
Will be putting down about 125/150mm type1 on clay for a garden path,my question is this is it best to put it down in one go and compact it,or half down compact and then second half and compact?
Your thoughts as always appreciated.
Thanks Ian

You can compact at 150 but it won't be a bad idea if you do it in stages.

Cheers Sean and Ruby
Thought it would be best to do it in stages but thought best to ask the experts!

If it's only a path, on good ground then 125mm will be plenty.

Also if there are plenty of fines in the stone, then compacting at that thickness with a decent sized whacker will be fine.
