I would be very grateful if one of the oracles could give me a little bit of advice. I've just completed laying a patio. Laid on (new) concrete . The grey coloured sandstone slabs I bought were supposed to be 22mm calibrated. The actual thickness varied down to about 17mm, so using my noddle I thought to give it a bit more strength I'd lay them on a bed of quite strong mortar (about 4 to 1) and quite a wet mix to ensure no voids. I was planning on using the sweep in pointing stuff mentioned on this site-Rodex or something like that, but when I checked the spec for this it said it must be laid to a depth of 30mm. Obviously I haven't got this as the slabs are only 22mm thick (and to be honest some of the mortar has crept into the joints and is only about 12mm deep in places.
Does anyone know if this stuff will be OK? Maybe if I "tooled" it in to compact it a bit more? If not any suggestions will be gratefully received-as long as they don't say I've got to break out the mortar cos its gone off now and its bleeding hard work! Thanks in advance.

why not point it the old fashioned way? looks better too if you beak it, plus its more time but way cheaper
