@LLL I am not disagreeing with the people, only the methodology. I am not some DIYer, i to have done this type of work year in year out and i have always sealed jobs as soon as they have been finished with no problems with efflo as like the link says the sealer penetrates into the block and so stops the efflo from coming to the surface (there are very few if any sealers these days that wont penetrate in).

Efflorescence occurs in all concrete but you wouldnt wait 4-6 months to seal Pattern imprint as the surface would get trashed, so it is sealed straight away and no one has a problem but the general concensus seems to be that you have to treat different types of concrete differently?!?

All i can say is get a sealer that you feel confident with and give it a try on your next job, i have been using the same sealer for 5+ years now and found one that work for me with no probs (like most guys on here i have tried pretty much all the sealers going).

@Loudog Best thing is to do what you think is best for you, i just wanted to add my two pennies worth to the discussion and let you know that you dont have to wait 4-6 months.

@cookiewales Bahamas! I wish no it was in the glouriously sunny part of the world known as Wigan!

The stuff i use for blocks, concrete, concrete flags etc... is called Adseal Super made by a company called Advanced sealing solutions in Bolton, i found them on the web and tried it because they were local to me and found it was really good stuff at the right price (which is always important).
