Having completed my banking wall (see posts 11thJune), I have had a quote for brick paving the new drive area of approx 15 m2. to match existing clays.

I am worried as to the quality of the "firm" who quoted, mainly cos they were from an ad in the local rag.

They seemed ok and the price was right, so should I risk it, or is there a better way?

I never got around to seeing the wall, did I? I know yu went away for a few days shortly after it was completed, and I forgot to make a note in my diary at the time.

As this is only 15m², would DIY not be a possibility?

Thanks Ken and Tony

Having viewed a job done by these people, I am dismayed at the quality of work. The cut blocks looked as though they had been axed and many boundary lines ran untrue!

DIY looks the only way, but I wanted it doing quickly.

Where's the best place to buy 60mm brick pavers? (to match existing size)

Probably the favourite in your area is Cooper Clark, Morpeth Street, Swinton (Junction of Worsley Road and Folley Lane)

I was shopping around recently for my own driveway and found them the best on price and availability.

(Thanks for the promotion Tony, I've been doing a lot of barrow pushing lately)

Still messing about with this clay paving! Wife getting more unbearable!

Got price off contractors to lay in a day (15m2) and no sign since! I suppose they been affected by the weather :p

Also I have sourced some 200x100x65 brindle clays at Baggeridge, but they are nibbed chamfer rather than plain chamfer, so I'm still pontificating (especially with delivery at £124 for two packs)

Is there a magic wand you can wave Tony and source me a perfect match and a nice man to lay them ???
