Hello everyone...

I just wondered if anyone could enlighten me as to whether Staffordshire Blue blocks are suitable for a driveway? I may be able to obtain some - depending on their price :-)

I quite like the look of the bricks and I like the idea of re-using reclaimed materials.

The blocks are around 2 inches thick - and marked 'vitreous' on a concave face.

Are these suitable for paving?

Yes - in fact they are from a recently demolished terraced estate and come from back yards / entries.

Are there any special laying requirements given they have a convex surface? There are some diamond & circular patterned pavers too which I may get.

I'm not sure if they are dust bricks - how do I tell? Most I think have the word 'vitreous' moulded into the convex side...

that means clay fired lay on sharp sand cement 4 to1 for best results :;):
