When i come to pull my rails out, i pull them out, chuck couple of shovels of grit sand on where they have come out, then i get a tarmac wooden squeegy and it fits nicely on the two screeded sides and you just pull the sand back over your foot prints. What is good is it's on a long handle so no bending back down, works a treat.
