anyone played with this product, we are asked to lay it ever more increasingly in the domestic market and the samples we now have are very good, having spoke at length with the suppliers it would seem the method is as block paving, with a tanalised timber outer frame just below finished level and the turf is glued to the timber. any tips etc? and any ideas on how our 10 yr guarantee could possibly be affected considering glue and timber underground? im wondering if having the timbers micronised may be worth the extra expense? its all very well hoping things will last ten years but in the interest of our customers we want it to last way way past that age.

Hi Mate
We did 2 Artificial Lawns about 8 year ago, 50m2 & 40m2, both on previous Boggy ground, played on by Lads, hence the reason. Both are still doing well, apart from the occasional wind blown weed and Moss on one of them, but thats a location issue not our work.
As you said its similar to Block Paving to fit, although you have to be careful how you spread the Kiln Sand as it tends to clump together, so make sure it's plenty dry. We Fixed to Tanalised timber Battens, which we further treated with a couple of coats of creosote substitute, and they are still ok, but will need replacing in approx 3 years I'd guess. The seams are all ok, but they do get worm casts on parts of one where the little buggers have weaved through the Geo Fabric. Still don't like it though!!
Gi it sum ommer
