3 x 2 council slabs

Hi,
I want to pave a large area at the side of the house with 3 x 2 "council type" paving slabs. I cant seem to find them anywhere only reclaimed ones, which isnt a problem but obviously need a large quantity. Have they stopped producing them in the 3 x 2 size? thanks

hi , yes you can still buy them , wherbts in cheshire are you and what quantity and what size thickness .

75 mm were usually special order and had mesh in them. we laid them as the first slab along the kerbline on various pavements ,stop cars breaking them and looking back they were 600mm x 600mm. you will be able to get 63mms from any marshall stockists but they will have to order them from marshalls .try burdens 0161 202 8000. they might stock them

thanks 63 mm will be sufficient as its only a paved area not taking any weight

50 mm will do then .save your self money and your back . ???

Agree with settsonmondays 3x2 x 75mm & 63mm are absolute monster slabs. If its for a residential project 50mm is more than adequate

thanks guys just wanted to ensure that they dont move with time exisitng patio has moved a lot - was here when we moved in - so thought heavier would be less likely to move

lay them on a sand cement mix and they wont move

i am breaking out in a sweat just thinking about laying them buggers, i have layed hundreds years ago but now i like to put the hammer through them and chuck them in the skip. good luck anyway.

Do it properly, sub base bedding 50mm slabs won't go anywhere

We did a job at a rugby club and they'd been sponsored by someone who had given them 50 odd packs of the 60mm monsters and we had to lay them, did one day laying them by hand then went and got a couple of slab lifters they are awful to lay.
