Staffing problems - Who needs em!!

Does anybody want a job these days... I only ask cos I've got one lad who's decided to tour Feckin Latin America for 7 weeks and another who's decided to jack in cos he's not earning enough, Â£80 a day, unskilled !!...and his missus is on the sick so i've found out and they pay no rent or council tax in their 3 bed council semi in Leamington Spa... my gaff meanwhile's falling feckin down and I have to pay a mortgage for the right to live in it, sound.
Does anyone want a job..need a skilled chap/chapette, good all round Landscaping skills with driving liscense, we work all over the West Midlands, building anything from Patios to swimming Pools, decking, planting etc...loads on, noy really bothered with labourers as their ten a penny at the moment, just grafters.

sadly mick unskilled think they are being mugged off for Â£80 a day
our hoddy is always crying about money,so i said if you can find the same job better paid let me know

Thats one of the reasons why there are so many foreign workers they'll work twice as hard and for less money and they'll be grateful for the work. Every one seems to want paying an absolute fortune for doing naff all

I think his money was about right for his effort, considering you rarely get more than 6 good hours out of anyone these days, especially this guy who smoked (seem to all have 10 min breaks every hour), so that equates to about Â£13.00 an hour in work output terms, not bad if you think about it. I'm not tight but I think wages across the board are to high, or is that wage expectations.
I know life's expensive these days and money doesn't go far, but the days of site wages are gone for the moment, the Private sector won't pay them, and I believe you have to earn them anyway.
I had a kid of 24 asking for Â£90.00 a day just cos he'd been to college, but then proceeded to show me how to lay bricks with a gauging trowel as a real size one was to heavy, for fecks sake !

Me too, thing is he's actually turned out ok, now we've fed him up a bit, told him to lay of the porn and get a girlfriend... he's the one who's swanning off around latin America though!!:D

And heres some of there work !

i think one of the reasons the foreign workers will work for next to nothing is that they rent a house an get as many people as possible in there that pic is from my sisters house she rents out according to the neighbour theres about 3 familys in it saying that though 80 quid a day seams grand to me :p

Also loads of our fellow citizens seem happy to pay as little as possible for anything and expect everything in return, we have our greedy profit driven culture to thank for that

We had a polish dry wall lad work on the big house for our plastering contractor he worked all day non stop and was neat and tidy and efficient, worked all day right up to 4.30 not like our English plasters who looked for every excuse to duck at 3 and be in the pub.

I agree mate, we had a couple of Polish Lads strip the lath out, re-board and plaster the kids room last year, same thing, neat job, no dossing, and fair price. They had no breaks, apart from the occasional drink, just cracked on.
It isn't the migrant workers fault, it's the unscrupulous developers and Builders who take advantage of their situation and put them to work for peanuts. A lot of British lads do ask for too much money, but that's the because we've come to accept it.
Look at some of the Brickwork on new builds, it's shite, because it's slapped up on a price and it's volume that counts, not quality.
Problem we have is that everyone, in all walks of life expects the average wage,they keep harping on about, but thats an artificial figure, that the high earners hike up with their obscene earnings, makes everyone feel they should be on more.

well the uk average is supposedly 25k PA but i reckon most working class folk are probably on around 15-18k top line
the big earners do drag the average up
I wont work for peanuts,but there are loads that will
I know for a fact that developers are taking advantage and paying really poor rates to trades especially on new builds
I know skilled blokes who are taking home Â£250 a week on price, but rather that than sit at home
