Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

I have a 1958 bungalow which doesnt have a vent pipe anywhere on the drains, they are combined. i have two inspection chambers.
Im in the process of replacing the bathroom and will be adjusting the pipe for the toilet so it goes back to the wall and it just got me thinking.
There arent any problems with the drains at present.
so the question is, do I need one?

Does your existing pipework make a noise when your waste is flushed and does it empty the water out of the toilet and does it smell ? You really need to install a vent pipe if you have'nt already got one.

my neighbours dont have them either for some reason, no gurgling or anything.
dont fancy a durgo in the bathroom.
there are a load of trap gullies on the system though, they dont drain. could i use small diameter pipe for the vent?
