Yeah has got a bad rep our old joiner guy is salt of the earth Scottish farming lad 6' 6" and hard in that Scottish highland hill farming way but wasn't aggressive.

He bought into the business so no longer stands on the cold door, I've never had a problem there but I'm quiet and not a silly drunk or ever stupid enough to think I want to fight bouncers.

Last time I got in a fight with bouncers was in Rotterdam, on tour with a band. Gigging in full swing all these young Dutch kids going for it noshing and bouncers didn't understand they were happy as larry smashing into each other sweating climbing over each other etc. Only 16-20 yr old indie kids so these bouncers wade in grabing kids dragging them out, lead singer jumps off stage tries to stop them. This is out headline gig 400 ppl there to see us so bouncer grabs lead singer and tries to drag him out, drummer bass player continuing I wade in grab bouncer to retrieve singer and all hellos breaks loose. I'm 6' 17-18 stone not at all violent but played enough rugby to handle myself and singers 6' 3" strong lad wrestling and punching these 4 black Dutch bouncers. Venue owners going mad at them in Dutch were now rolling rd on the floor to close in to land anything then all the indie kids wade in and it's 400 against 4 bouncers made a hasty retreat.

Gig continued was good night, I went out afterwards with these 5 Dutch girls ended up in this seedy club with the same door staff on my own but for the girls so just kept my eye out and had a very fun night :p

I do the door at our little club/ recording studio place and far better to talk someone out befriend and defuse than be aggressive.

Only ever had to drag one guy out, and he pulled a knife on me but got it off him. He got visited some time soon after after word spread what he'd done by some associated of a musician/pharmacist guy who plays guitar.

Had 100 odd in last night no problems, it's all about selective inviting hehe

Do remember one funny night where a lad had brought sone Lads down from his building site and one had brought 2 mates or relations with him.

Was a techno night for the climbing scene, one of the young lads starts mouthing off that's there's only 4 of us running the place and he can take them etc let's have them. Next to his much bigger tougher mate, etc this goes on for a bit so made it my business to stay within feet of this jumpy nervous aggressive kid.

So the kid decides he wants trouble old guy there must be in his 50 shirt off dancing away to trance etc very muscular like free climbers are next thing this kids started on him for no reason, the old guy turns out to be some marshal arts zen master reclouse you does one hand handstand as the sun rises on cliff tops etc.

Within one move the young I'm hard scaly is on the floor with his arm behind his back being pulled from it's socket as the old dudes got his foot in this shoulder and pulling his arm. Kids crying in pain, funniest thing every, big guy who brought kid drags out telling him If he doesn't go apologise to everyone he'd knock him out himself lol.

Just the speed and elegance the guy dropped him without really touching him was impressive.

Yep ,leave all the crap at the door. If they're half cut, they'll only buy a couple of pints and annoy most of the punters.
Did have one big cat fight one night, working with a 'doorlady' ??? and there was a birthday bash/hen night. It went off like billo. I was physically lifting these girls out the door whilst untangling their hair with the other hand.
The dozy bint I was working with was watching them open the fire door to let their mates back in.
Ended when one treid to clatter the bride with a Magnum of champagne. They got barred and the champers anded up behind the bar

if anyone has read "mig down" by "tommy robinson "there between the lies are some funny true bits
I know all of the lads involved and 1 of the favourite tricks when the wild west brawl kicked off was to go for the till

with my own eyes i saw 2 lads from the same side fighting one night??? what goes? i though as a stool whistled into the optics

then i realised, they were scrapping over the till
proper scouse move that
LOL
