Had a patio done by very reputable firm last june and they used geofix which they said was brilliant stuff. It looked fantastic for a while but by August this wonderful stuff had gone black-not a good look with my sand coloured slabs! As you can imagine I was not happy but the builders just said to 'gently' jet wash it. Couldn't be doing with that hassle after only 2 months so left it but it really does look awful now. What can I do to clean it and stop it going black again, please?

The only thing to do, is pull it out chuck it as far away as possible...never let anyone convince you to use the goo again
Geofix never has been any good and never will
you need to use a product from GFTK or ROMEX, MARSHALLS are bringing out there own product this year anyday soon
im all about romex and similar
i'm about GFTK

What??? GeoFix ate two diamond blades? I'll bet it wasn't actual GeoFix, which normally needs nothing more than a stick with a nail through it to rake it out of joints. I've never, ever known GeoFix to set hard: it sets, in the same style that a blancmange sets, but it doesn't ever go rock hard.

One of the biggest failings of GeoFix is the fact that it is notorious for turning black with algae as soon as you turn your back on it, and threatening it with a power washer is more likely to dislodge the damned stuff from the paving than the algae from the GeoFix. I've seen the blackness cleaned up with repeated applications of bleach and gentle brushing, but once you get aggressive with GeoFix, it runs off and hides.

I have only used Geofix once and it failed. scraped it out with bolster and hand brush.

How do they get away with selling the stuff, I have never heard anyone say a good word about it?

im sure it was geo we took out , maybe it was a combination of cutting the bedding out too. granatech does a really good job on setts .especially on really heavy traffic (buses, beer wagons etc). not sure on cost a bag
