Bit Random, but here goes. I was working on a building site in Sydney back in 2005 and got to know this Scottish bricklayer. He was a real character, smoked like a chimmney, loved a drink and always had a good tale to tell.
One day we were all sitting down having "smoko" when Duncan starts telling us one of his tales.
"I was fishing at the the weekend on my mates boat in Sydney Harbour. We'd got there early and by first light we were on the water fishing. It was a beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky and real real quiet. You know when you get that sense that somethings not quite right and that maybe your not alone? well I just got that feeling all of a sudden and the hairs on the back of my neck just stood up. I turned around and there it was, a huge picost heading straight for me"
Then came the pause which all good storytellers have mastered. By this point the whole canteens captivated with the tale. Everybodys thinking exactly the same thing. i've got my fist in my mouth because there is no way its going to be me. Finally were saved by some young Aussie labourer:
"What the fucks a pie cost?
"About $2.50 with sauce" replied Duncan
