I always thought the best cowboy writer ever "Chris Le Doux", wrote the rodeo song , suddenly we people are saying it's
Gary Lee & The Showdown.


"this song was written by Gaye Delorme - an Albertan from Canada. As he often said, he wrote it because he got tired of drunken people on the dance floor jumping onto the stage during performances. They were partying & they thought the band was, too. The event was the Calgary Stampede - hence the name "The Rodeo Song." Gaye wrote several other songs in that vein - having to do with his lack of patience for drunks in the audience - but this one seems to have been "the hit."

Sounds like a bit of a wanker to be honest.
