I had an enquiry the other day from a mister hussein in luton,who wanted his drive measured up
when i asked would it not be better to just get a quote, he replied that he was going to order the blocks.
so i asked who was laying the drive,and he said someone else
so i asked him" you have someone laying the drive and they are unable to measure it up?"
to which he replied "well marshalls told me to ring you"
I have spoke to DS at marshalls and he has no knowledge of this,so i am guessing someone was having my leg up.
I told mister hussein to refer to this site for any tips etc. but sadly i have no interest in a QS job for free

well i had a phone call a few days ago asking to quote for a driveway and he did not say it was supply only, as the conversation transpired it turns out the job was located in Luton which is too far for me to travel so I advised him to go on the Marshall's website and type his post code in the find an installer search box
then i thought of you so i gave him your contact details, so it was me and not a wind up

ahhh thanks for the leg up mickg,i would do the same for any of the blokes on here,but he just kept mentioning marshalls and how as a representative of theirs i should come out and measure up for him

??? I had an Asian-sounding bloke last week from Luton asking me for a contractor to measure up and give a price for driveway work. I couldn't get much sense from him about the type of work, so I just gave him LLL's number.
i wonder how they are getting on?
its a matter of time before we see pakpol or polpak driveways round here the love affair is that intense
