good to hear that,as i havent submitted it yet !the depth scares me a bit! i'd normally put this out to a favoured groundworker but am having to take a punt in this instance. your thoughts on price etc would be greatly appreciated.

not sure about the price but i would finnish all the haunching on the first ring before dropping the rest of the rings on, saves working in confined space.

My local council has just done more or less exactly this on a common sewer 300m down the lane, and 40-odd of us have been obliged to chuck in to the cost, even though a mate of mine could have done it for a couple of grand less.

Of course, I can't find the bloody bill now, but burned into my memory is the fact that it cost use just over 9,000 quid. The council have agree to pay a proportion, due to the council houses sharing the sewer, and I have to find 150-odd quid because some pillock down the lane puts frigging Pampers nappies down the bog!

If I find the bill, I'll scan and post it here....

can you ask your favoured ground worker for a price and see where he sits? from a tight git like myself, I think I'd snap your hand off at £2800, but like dave I'm down south.

is it just in soil/loose ground or in the road?

have you got your confined spaces ticket, as if you make the ring up with lid etc youll need the harness, winch, c02 monitor, oxygen tank and ticket to bench it clear up etc.

have you got a mini-box manhole box or sheet piles or just going to 45 batter the sides? as they are really expensive to hire

you are going to need a 5ton plus machine, cant actually engage brain to work it out but looks competitive thats for one not 3 isnt it haha. maybe on the cheap side, what size rings you using?

do you need a landing on a 3m man hole?
