The first one with no harness and an open cab is just an accident waiting to happen. The second one, i would say: is safe enough, proper lifting bracket, window guard etc:

the first one they've strapped through the tracks, a disaster waiting to happen the tracks arent designed to be pulled on and stretched like that,

the second one i'd do, in a lifting frame, cab, redundant strappings and the frame is resting against the chimney stop you wobbling around as you pushed with the pecker, id want time and a half though haha

2 blokes i know around the 65 mark demolished some old buildings in luton to make way for the arndale in the late 1960s
anyway they got a pound a week extra for standing 4 storeys up on the wall and demolishing it a brick at a time
no scaffold,nothing ,just ladders and hammers
they reckon it was easier after the pub

I remember when he blew plum mill chimney in heywood ,he must have over-loaded it with explosives because he blew all the windows out of the greenhouses at the allotments 200yards away and alot of the house windows on the other side of the allotments.he was also a very good jazz pianist.


Mervyn was obviously a legend,steeplejack ,safe blower,drinker and pianist
