Been watching the news everyday and listening to the radio it sounds like a nightmare out there.
Fortunately for me I've seen absolutely nothing of it. I live in Newbury and work in Staines, so its just a straight run up the M4. Its almost as if there is a forcefield covering the M4 corridor, clean as a whistle

We've got our usual 6mm dusting. Being in the lee of the Welsh Mountains and on the flatlands before the Pennines, we tend to get overlooked most of the time.
However, even without the snow there wouldn't be much work we would be able to get on with at these temps. Digging off, stoning up, drainage, but not fit for any mortar/concrete work and laying course sand would be frozen stiff all day.
I'll stay here, in the warm, trying to make sense of soakaway calculations!

just got in and have to say that was one of the coldest work days ever
the lads carried on in hemel whilst my self and the digger driver installed a compost toilet at my local allotments.
the concrete wagon turned up at 10 and all the sand was frozen along with the grit
but we got it sorted
at least it wasnt muddy
pics will follow when i have thawed out
LLL
PS picked a bulk bag of 10mm shingle up for a bit of weight on the back wheels, cut the bag and the shingle came out in a solid lump like dog food out of a can, took me 15 minutes to smash it to smaller lumps

lucky ground has frozen solid meaning we can use trazctor and trailer now to relay about a foot of top soil on a newly cut and filled rugby pitch.
