you are lucky to get real bubble these days chris
proper bubble and squeak is leftover spuds and cabbage fried the next day
a lot of cafes now do some horrible frozen imitation that contains carrots too yuk!

dont know how to post a link but potato/cabbage = yuk in a big way but mrs rab loves the stuff(lived in london for 5 years). my personal favorite is a pie in a buttered roll with a pint off milk.

Mashed potato and cabbage = Colcannon = food of the Gods.

Add a dash of pepper and big slice of bacon/gammon, and it just doesn't get much better. :D

Thanks for the advice Tony. The compactor plate was a Honda petrol GX120 which weighed in at 76kgs. so possible a tad light?

the sandwich shops i sheffield do proper hot pork sandwiches bread buttered then dipped in the the hot dripping, then pork and crackling and stuffing and apple sauce
