Hi Can anyone offer some advice for selecting between the 50mm and 60mm Hanson Chatres modular combined block for a 90sqm driveway to support two medium/large family vehicles?

Have read that a 60mm block is the recommended choice for block driveways. Is this just for a standard rectangular blocks vs. the Chartres modular blocks where the 50mm would do the same job?

Thanks.

i am not familiar with that block but i always use 60mm brett blocks over 50mm
it stands to reason that 60mm must be a little stronger than 50mm
I know 50mm is acceptable for a light use driveway but the difference in cost makes it a no brainer for me

There's no real difference when it comes to driveway use. The 60mm blocks are patently better because they are thicker, but the 50mm are perfectly suitable for driveways, even those carrying 4x4s or Tranny Vans.

So base your choice on cost. If you can get the 60mm blocks for the same or similar price, then go with them, otherwise you'll be just fine with the 50s.
