Hi,

Having recently had an Indian Flagstone patio laid my girfriend decided to clean the mortar stains with a standard acid based patio cleaner.

Needless to say (having read other posts) they have now taken on an orange patching.

Can anything be done to restore the original colour or is it ruined???

Any assistance gratly appreciated.

Bandito.

Sorry, but there is no known fix for this acid staining.

I do wish the suppliers would warn their customers about this problem. It has been one of the most common questions received by email/telephone over this summer and it seems that most suppliers remain blissfully unaware of the problem, and those that do know of it stay schtum in case the info puts off potential customers. Personally, I think that's shoddy behaviour.

I know that some of us have been trying all sorts of products and potential 'cures' for this problem. I've had no success at all - some flags that I've had 'weathering' for over 12 months show no signs of real improvement, and no-one else I've spoken to seems to have come up with owt that works, but, if something does turn up, you can be sure it will be featured on the website.
