Simple - sort of, just 70m2 of blocks with around 20 flags inset. Right on that I was too concerned about a substancial edge restraint -it was overkill and I wouldn't have posted if I had felt comfortable about it.
LLL had the right attitude and came up with a positive suggestion.
I have gone from what LLL suggested to something very similar and simple, satisfied that it will do the job.
Unfortunately I didn't see the path edging in any of the edge restraints looking through this web sites block paving edge detailing and I did miss what is now obvious to deal with the edge of the area.
So mission accomplished.
For pickwell paving - Yes a standard detail would be best where the edge is conventional as most block paving. The block in question is fairly big at 300 x 200. Rightly or wrongly I think a visible border would look to fussy in the design and I adapted a standard detail to suit the circumstances and pleased that at least one person here saw what I was trying to do and put me right.

I've been offline for a few days so have read this thread and it's predecessor in full at one sitting.
We all have our own ways of working, what is generally common here though is that the pro's who frequent the site do a proper job.
Can i suggest that a slightly less confrontational-sounding tone in your postings is more likely to provoke discussion and debate? That is, rather than "at least one person here saw what I was trying to do and put me right"-type comments which appear, rightly or wrongly, to infer that the other posters don't know what they are talking about.
