It's strange that the system won't recognise your previous incarnation, but it looks as though it's had another dicky fit over the weekend - many of the posts to the Block Paving forum have been disappeared as well. Did you check the case of your username/password? The sytem is case-sensitive, so if you;ve used uipper case where lower case was required, it won't recognise you.

Anyway, on to your paving...I'm not sure that I'm following this correctly, but it sounds as though you're relying on surface water draining through the paving at the lower end of your s-curve. If you're having problems now, it will only get worse as the pavement self-seals and becomes progressively more impermeable. Ideally, there should be some crossfall on the paving to ensure the surface water is directed to the lawn or a drainage pick-up point.

So: on to your idea for an edge-of-garden drain. This is perfectly feasible and what you need is a collector drain, as illustrated on the Land Drainage page. This will act as an interceptor for any groundwater migrating in from next door's garden and so, hopefully, reduce the problem in your own patch.

Just how this collector drain helps with the pavement drainage, though, I'm not too sure.
