That my friend is a long story! To cut it short ( very short ), Start of the year, went out on my own! Went well for a while, got royally bumped out of a big payment. Ended up out of work, no motor, no tools, no house :( got back on my feet ish, moved in the the bird, went tits up, homeless again! Sorted now though, working for a firm again, got a house (yay!) a wee van again, doing homers again and taking my mind off this shitty year by playing in the band. Been a 'testing' year this!

Haha! Funny you should mention leith area rab, spent most the day working at leith, and 2 hours tonight not far from said area, although i was strumming the g-string, not removing one :( heh :p

First off, many thanks to Stuarty for popping over last night and taking a look at what we've done so far. Good to hear that we seem to be doing all the right things. :) Any time you're passing, kettle's on.

Just stopped for lunch, and I thought I would give everyone a laugh with our latest discovery -

The Worst Soakaway, In The World.

Yes folks, you too can create a "Soak" "Away" using nothing more than a hole about 18" deep, some breezeblocks and a bit of plywood to cover the hole.

I think we might have found the cause of the damp in that corner. I mean, who, really, would think that was a proper job?

Still, why let someone else's TOTALLY SHODDY work put you off?

Managed to dig out the gable end and fill the skip after lunch. :)

Not much to report this week.

Got a second skip and finished lowering the ground today. Found the remains of a clay-pipe land drain, two runs each a few feet long. Starting nowhere in particular, and ending a few feet away.

So, stage one completed. Yay!

The ground near the "soak" "away" is completely sodden, so the sooner I get that sorted the better.
