Hi, I am having a new patio laid and I have a well that is right in the way! I was planning on lighting it up and a glass? cover but that is too expensive.
I want to cover this up and slab over it - what would be best, like a metal plate like the roadworkers sometime use - if so where do you think would be best to get it from and how much?
Im going to be using a slate slab and area is probably 2 1/2 feet diameter.
Cheers very much
Chris

like dan i would make a feature of it
plus you have 1 big mutha of a soakaway to use, although i guess your on chalk if you have a well
you could reduce it to subgrade height and cast a reinforced concrete slab over it,really an engineer needs to design this
however if you choose to DIY i would use ply, then mesh then a 150mm C30 slab
2 and a half feet sounds too small for a well, are you sure its not something else?
a man had to dig a well by hand so normally they are 4 feet internally
