Hi Guys
Im back after 12 months and now Im gonna lay some more blocks!!! 130sqM to be precise!!
The question is can I do say 40sq M and then do another 40 sq M later on ? if so is it just a case of haunching up the perimeter??
Ill take some photos tommorow that way you can tell me what i need to do.
Thanks guys !!!

Right lads
This is the driveway at my house!
As you can see it slopes downwards towards the road.
Heres another angle
I want to lay 40 sq M of paving where the caravan is sitting now ending in line with the wall where the garage door is.
How would you deal with this layout and can I lay up and haunch the last of the bloocks so i can continue later on??
Thanks guys and look forward to your replies.

ok thats great Ill leave it for 9 months I reckon.DNgroundworks wrote:i cant see why not, as long as it is properly haunched maybe lay some 6" flat top edgings along the line bedded in concrete and haunched, as a temporary edge. How long do you plan to leave it for?
Should I do the edging straight away for all the driveway?
Any other pointers??
Thanks
Tim

yeah all the edging should be installed now so you know its the correct shape and fall to disperse any surface water
the only concerns I would have with starting at the side of the garage is when you start the second phase you are starting at the top of the driveway and working down hill which is not the correct way, you would normally screed the sand down hill but lay the block paving uphill as the block can creep slightly if your not careful
you also need to make sure you have a straight line from the side of the garage down to the gates otherwise when doing it is phases you will end up with the lines on the blocks looking like a dogs hind leg
other than that have fun and post some photos when you have finished the first bit
