Advice on flag stains

It would be great just hear people's opinions of the job and whether this is realistically what we should expect.

Sorry, but you'll get nowhere with this one. The flags are exactly what they should be: plain, boring, unattractive flat squares of uncoloured concrete, with aggregate showing in places.

Tonyis probably top of the hard landscaping hierachy in this country and although the truth can hurt you got to accept that he is only telling you the truth

i think that's a fair job there
you can pick fault with anything if you really want to ,but IMHO its a decent enough job and the slabs are what they are,cheap and functional
I'm not keen on all those diagonal cuts but i know why they are there

Thanks for the replies and also for rotating the photo!! Sorry about that!!

We've come to a compromise with the contractor - he is going to replace the worst aggregate-showing flags. Whilst we're not totally happy, its probably the best outcome we could hope for.

This forum has been excellent in helping us understand things better - so thanks for all your help!!

Diagonal mitre cuts - if you have to use diagonal mitre cuts to cope with the falls or the lie of the land, then you are using the wrong paving.

Smaller paving units eliminate the need for these eyesores. Have you ever seen diagonal cuts on block paving or setts?

the fact that there is a flag on edge retainer as well as flags on the drive all points towards a budget job
without being rude skaro how much is the whole job costing you and how many metres is it?
